The Knights of the Mediterranean DLC for Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition has amazing additions to the game including 2 New Civilizations "Malta" and "Italy". Knights of the Mediterranean brings a wealth of new content to Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, including the addition of the Italy and Malta Civilizations, the new Tycoon Game Mode for more casual play, and the first set of Historic Maps, which offers Endless gameplay possibilities with a touch of story.
Two New Civilizations
Malta:
Protect the Mediterranean from incursions with unique fortifications, don shining armor to fend off attacks, and bombard your enemies from a distance with Fixed Cannons. Flamethrowers and swords may win battles, but your Commander's superior logistics win wars. Glad you can count on both! Battles on the high seas with the Order's Welsh can leave gunpowder soggy, but that's no problem for your Arbalesters. You can always replenish your supply at a Powder Depot, or even blow it up if an enemy army is passing through!
Italy:
Unite the wealthy forces of merchant republics, duchies and Papal states as new Settlers flock to your rising empire with every major technological advance and use Architects to build buildings at no cost! Invest in Lombard Bank to boost your economy and make a quick profit, or build an imposing Basilica and send Papal soldiers to strengthen and complement your army. Use Protected Squires to lure opponents into an ambush by Bersaglieri or make the Elmeti use their spears and triumph with a merciless attack!
New Tycoon Game Mode
Tycoon:
Tycoon is the newest game mode, a more casual experience that focuses on economic supremacy rather than military domination. Freed from the pressure of competitive play, this new mode allows players to explore and strengthen economic strategies that can be leveraged in other modes in Age of Empires III: Definitive Editon.
Unpublished Historical Maps
Historical Maps:
Historical Maps are a new variation on Random Maps. Randomly generated to ensure endless gameplay possibilities, these eight new maps allow for an immersion in the story with Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition offering unique objectives for each map, all based on some of the continent's most memorable conflicts.
